Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about chanting with NaamJap, your devotion record, and your account.
What is NaamJap?
NaamJap is a universal chanting companion. It helps you keep a daily chanting practice using any divine name you hold sacred, counts your chants into Malas, and recognises your devotion as a recorded contribution called NAAM.
The NAAM Jap app takes this ancient practice and records it permanently using
blockchain technology. Think of it as a Digital Mala that counts your chanting, verifies it is real, and stores it forever.
Is NaamJap tied to one religion?
No. NaamJap is built on a single idea — humanity is the only religion. There are no required words, deities, or scriptures. You choose the name that is meaningful to you, and the app supports your practice without favouring any tradition.
Is the app free to use?
Yes. NaamJap is free to download and use for your chanting practice.
What names and languages can I chant?
You can chant any divine name in your preferred language. You select your name and language when you begin, and you can change them at any time.
What is a Mala?
A Mala is one full round of 108 chants — a traditional count used across many practices. NaamJap keeps track of each chant so you always know how far you’ve come in a round.
What is NAAM?
NAAM is how your verified chanting is recognised and recorded — a “Proof of Devotion” that forms part of the eternal record of mankind’s devotion. It is a recognition of your practice, not a financial product or investment.
How is my chanting verified?
During a session the app uses your microphone to recognise your chanting and count it. Verification helps make sure recorded devotion reflects genuine practice. You’re always in control of when a session is active.
What happens to my audio?
Audio is used to recognise and count your chanting during a session. We explain exactly how audio is handled, processed, and retained in our Privacy Policy.
Do I need any blockchain knowledge?
Not at all. You can simply chant and keep your practice. The technology that keeps the record secure works quietly in the background — nothing extra is required from you.
How do I view or manage my NAAM?
Your detailed devotion record and NAAM history are available on the NaamJap web portal. The app stays focused on your practice; the portal is where you can review everything in full.
How do I delete my account?
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, in the app or from our Delete Account page.
What is the minimum age to use NaamJap?
